MESSAGE FROM B.O.G CHAIRMAN
Mwavumbo Secondary school has registered tremendous development since it was established in 1985.
The school started as a harambee secondary school with a single stream of about 20 students admitted to Form one.
It is therefore gratifying to note that the school has since changed status to a triple stream school with an enrolment of 540 students.
As a Board of Governors, our rallying call has been, "Quality Education for self-actualization".
Our commitments has always been the provision of excellent learning infrastructure to the students through community participation.
I would like to affirm that it was through our networking with the parents, the community and the government that enabled the school to develop in leaps, upto the present status.
Our plan is not only to continue with the rapid expansion of the infrastructure, but to improve the general academic performance in Mathematics and Science.
We are , therefore planning to construct two standard laboratories to facilitate the teaching of Sciences, Chemistry and Biology.
I appreciate the overwhelming support the parents have accorded the Board of Governors in supporting all the development projects in the school.
I also thank the government for all the TSC teachers posted to the school and the government grants the school as been receiving over the years.
Finally, I would like to thank the area member of parliament, Hon. Gonzi Rai, Assistant Minister for Lands, for his suport and personal input in the development of this school.
